In nirvicārā samādhi, there is a shift, and we have a direct, pure, experience of reality. With the clarity of this stage, we can begin to perceive the Self. In the painting, the interlocking spirals that have been a leitmotif since sūtra 1.17 begin to turn golden in the center, amidst the white  light of dawning spiritual awareness and the presence of all colors, of which white light is composed.
